Your privacy and the security of your information matter to us. This Privacy Policy (the "Policy") explains how the GoWalk development team and its affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively, "GoWalk," "we," "us," or "our") collect, use, disclose, store, and protect information when you use the GoWalk mobile application and related services (the "Service"), including versions made available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
The information we handle depends on the features you use, the permissions you grant, your device and privacy settings, your region, and the version of GoWalk installed on your device. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Device and network information
We may collect technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve GoWalk. Depending on your device and settings, this may include:
- country or region, system language, time zone, and SIM country or carrier;
- device manufacturer and model, screen dimensions, operating-system version, and app version;
- package name, app brand, first-open timestamp, and SDK, API, or code version;
- network status, connection type, IP address, and Wi-Fi or mobile-network information;
- app-instance identifiers, such as a Firebase installation or device identifier; and
- diagnostic, crash, performance, and security information.
1.2 Advertising identifiers and similar technologies
Where permitted by law and your device settings, GoWalk or our advertising partners may access an advertising identifier, such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers ("IDFA") or the Google Advertising ID. We use these identifiers for advertising, attribution, frequency control, fraud prevention, and analytics. Access to the IDFA is subject to Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission where required.
Advertising identifiers do not directly contain your name, email address, or other information that identifies you on its own. We treat them as personal information where required by law. We do not intentionally combine an advertising identifier with permanent hardware identifiers such as a MAC address or IMEI. Advertising partners may also use cookies or comparable technologies in web content displayed through the Service.
1.3 Usage, diagnostics, and interaction data
We may collect information about how you use GoWalk, including:
- screens or pages viewed, their order, buttons or links selected, and landing pages;
- the time spent on features, request dates and times, session counts, and app-open counts;
- permission status and whether particular features are operating correctly;
- errors, crashes, response times, and other technical-performance events; and
- information about installed apps only where the operating system lawfully makes it available, the released feature requires it, and we have an appropriate legal basis.
We use this information to understand feature performance, improve the user experience, measure advertising performance, and prevent fraud. We do not sell this diagnostic information as an independent data product.
1.4 Fitness, wellness, and information you record
When you use GoWalk's wellness features, we may process information such as step count, walking distance, workout duration, walking-plan selections, activity dates and times, daily goals, water-intake records, height, weight, target weight, and progress reports. This information may come from data you enter, device motion sensors, or a health or fitness platform that you choose to connect.
If you connect Apple Health, Health Connect, or another supported health platform, GoWalk accesses only the categories you authorize. You can revoke that access through the relevant device or platform settings. We do not use information obtained from health-platform APIs for personalized advertising, and we do not sell health or wellness information.
1.5 Information from advertising, monetization, and analytics partners
Third-party SDKs included in a released version of GoWalk may provide or access information such as:
- advertising identifiers, including the Google Advertising ID;
- approximate location or demographic inferences derived from an IP address;
- device type, technical configuration, country, language, and app version;
- ad impressions, clicks, conversions, and other advertising or marketing events;
- signals used to detect invalid traffic, click fraud, abuse, or security incidents; and
- aggregated analytics about use of the Service.
These providers process information under their own privacy policies. Depending on the app version and region, providers may include Google AdMob, Firebase, Meta Audience Network, Meta analytics tools, Smaato, PubNative, ironSource, Chartboost, Pixalate, InMobi, Pangle, PubMatic, legacy MoPub components, or an internal analytics system. A provider applies only if its technology is actually included or enabled in the version of GoWalk that you use.
1.6 Information you provide directly
We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including your email address, support request, feedback, survey responses, and other communications. If GoWalk offers a feature that allows you to submit or share content, we may also process that user- generated content in accordance with the GoWalk Terms of Use.
1.7 Users in designated countries
For users in the European Economic Area ("EEA"), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland (together, the "Designated Countries"), we process personal information under the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the UK GDPR, and other applicable data- protection laws. Depending on the purpose, our legal basis may be performance of our contract with you, compliance with law, our legitimate interests, or your consent.
2. How We Use Information
2.1 To provide and operate GoWalk
We use necessary information to:
- make the app and its features available to you;
- record and display your steps, workouts, water intake, weight, goals, and reports;
- provide products, content, or services that you request;
- remember settings and maintain app functionality; and
- respond to questions, feedback, and support requests.
2.2 To improve and personalize the Service
We may process information to:
- develop, test, update, maintain, and optimize GoWalk;
- understand feature usage and improve performance and reliability;
- customize content, goals, reminders, and the general app experience;
- manage our relationship and communicate with you; and
- send service messages, updates, security alerts, and support information.
2.3 Advertising and marketing
Where allowed and, when required, with your consent, we and our partners may use advertising identifiers, approximate location, language, country or region, general demographic information, ad interactions, and Service-usage information to select, deliver, measure, limit, and improve advertisements and marketing. We may share those categories of information with advertising and marketing partners for these purposes.
We do not use your recorded weight, height, water intake, step history, workout history, or information obtained from health-platform APIs to personalize advertising. You can limit personalized advertising through available consent controls, your device's privacy settings, or the opt-out tools offered by the relevant advertising provider.
Third-party advertising and marketing providers are responsible for their own data practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. GoWalk is not responsible for a third party's privacy practices or content.
2.4 Security, integrity, and legal compliance
We may process information to:
- monitor and analyze use of the Service;
- detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, cheating, crime, and security incidents;
- take action against fraudulent or misbehaving users;
- protect our users, rights, property, systems, and the public; and
- comply with legal obligations and respond to valid legal requests.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards and require service providers that process personal information for us to apply appropriate security measures. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Take care when sharing information through online or public features. Material you post in a public forum or community feature, if offered, may be visible and used by others.
4. Device Permissions and Legal Bases
4.1 Permissions GoWalk may request
GoWalk requests a permission only when the relevant feature or SDK needs it. The exact permissions available depend on your device, operating system, region, and app version. You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings, although the related feature may then be unavailable or may not work correctly. Permissions may include:
- Motion, fitness, or physical activity: to measure and display steps, walking activity, distance, and workout progress.
- Health-platform data: to read or write the specific health and fitness categories you choose to authorize through Apple Health, Health Connect, or another supported platform.
- Location, including precise location: where a walking or location- based feature is enabled, using GPS, Wi-Fi, or network signals.
- Notifications: to deliver walking-plan, hydration, goal, service, or security reminders that you choose to receive.
- Phone or device status and identifiers: where needed for compatibility, security, attribution, fraud prevention, or an enabled SDK.
- Photos, media, files, or storage: to read, save, modify, or delete a file only when you use a feature that requires file access.
- Camera: to take a photo or video only when an optional feature that uses the camera is available and you choose to use it.
- Wi-Fi and network information: to view connection status, receive internet data, and provide full network access needed to operate online features.
- Other device functions: where an enabled feature requires it, this may include controlling the flashlight or preventing the device from sleeping during an active session.
4.2 Legal bases for processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following:
- Contract: processing needed to provide the Service you request and perform our agreement with you.
- Legal obligation: processing needed to comply with accounting, regulatory, law-enforcement, or other legal requirements.
- Legitimate interests: processing needed to operate and improve GoWalk, manage our relationship with you, communicate about the Service, protect security, and prevent fraud, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: processing based on permission you provide, such as access to certain device data, cookies, personalized advertising, or disclosure to advertising partners where consent is required.
Some information or permissions may be necessary to provide a requested feature. If you do not provide them, that feature or part of the Service may not be available.
5. Data Retention and International Transfers
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide the Service, maintain business and legal records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and comply with law. Retention periods vary according to the type and sensitivity of the information, the feature involved, legal requirements, and whether the information can be deleted or anonymized.
GoWalk and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Your rights depend on where you live. Users in the EEA, United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, and certain other jurisdictions may have the rights described below. To submit a request, contact quanta@quantagarage.com. We may ask you to verify your identity and authority before completing a request.
Rights are subject to exceptions and limitations under applicable law. For example, we may limit or deny a request when denial is required or permitted by law, granting the request would adversely affect another person's privacy or rights, the information is needed to protect our rights or property, or a request is manifestly unfounded, repetitive, or disproportionately burdensome.
6.1 Withdraw consent
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. A withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal, including processing already performed by a third party on the basis of your earlier consent.
6.2 Access and correction
You may request a copy of personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct or update inaccurate information. We will respond without undue delay and, where the law requires, without charge. The law may allow us to charge a reasonable fee or limit access, including where disclosure would adversely affect another person's rights and freedoms.
6.3 Deletion
You may ask us to delete personal information that is no longer needed for the purpose for which it was collected, that was processed on the basis of consent you later withdrew, or that relates to processing you validly objected to and for which we have no overriding lawful grounds. We may retain information where an exception applies, including for legal compliance, security, fraud prevention, or legal claims.
6.4 Restriction of processing
You may request that we restrict processing when:
- you contest the accuracy of the information, while we take the time needed to verify it;
- the processing is unlawful but you prefer restriction instead of deletion;
- we no longer need the information for our purposes, but you need it to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim; or
- you have objected to processing and we are evaluating whether our legitimate grounds override your rights.
Restricted information will generally be processed only with your consent, to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, to protect another person or entity, or for important public-interest reasons. We will notify you before lifting a restriction where required. Restriction may interrupt some or all of the Service.
6.5 Object to processing
Where permitted by law, you may object to processing based on consent, contract, or legitimate interests, including certain direct-marketing or targeted-advertising uses. We may continue processing where needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims, or where another exception under applicable law applies.
6.6 Data portability
If processing is automated and based on your consent or our contract with you, you may request your personal information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. Where technically feasible, you may also ask us to transmit it directly to another controller, unless doing so would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others.
6.7 Notification to third parties
When we have disclosed relevant personal information to third parties, we will notify them of a valid correction, deletion, or restriction request unless doing so is impossible or would involve disproportionate effort. On request, and where required by law, we will identify those recipients.
6.8 Automated decisions and profiling
You may have the right not to be subject to a decision based only on automated processing, including profiling, when it produces legal effects or similarly significant effects on you, unless an exception under applicable law permits that processing.
6.9 Complaints
If you believe your privacy rights have been infringed, contact us first at quanta@quantagarage.com so we can try to address your concern. You may also have the right to complain to a competent data- protection authority in the place where you live, work, or believe the violation occurred.

8. Children's Privacy
GoWalk is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided us with personal information should contact us so that we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Information for California Residents
Subject to exceptions under California law, California residents may have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources and purposes of collection, and the categories of recipients; request deletion or correction; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or its use for cross- context behavioral advertising; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and receive equal service without unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights.
To submit a California privacy request or use an authorized agent, email quanta@quantagarage.com. We may need to verify your identity, residence, or the agent's authority before completing the request. You may also use device-level privacy controls and any opt-out control made available in GoWalk for advertising-related choices.
10. Changes to This Policy
Information is handled under the version of this Policy in effect when it is collected or processed, subject to applicable law. We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will post the revised Policy and update the date at the top of this page. Where appropriate or legally required, we will provide additional notice. Your continued use of GoWalk after an update takes effect means that you acknowledge the revised Policy.
